Critical thinking exercise 10.1: Dealing with anger

Critical thinking exercise 10.1: Dealing with anger

Consider a situation during which you were in the presence of someone who was angry. What do you think might have triggered their anger? How did you, or others who were present, respond to the person and their anger? Were your, or other people's, interventions successfull in reducing their anger?

'Jenny and John are in the midst of divorce. They are present in your clinic waiting room. They start to argue and end up screaming abuse at each other. They then sit down, obviously still fuming. What should you do?'

It is proposed that you ask them to leave the clinic immediately
